Niagara Zip Line logotype

Wildplay Niagara

WildPlay Niagara operates high exposure attractions located directly in front of the American and Canadian Falls, as well as four parallel ziplines reaching significant heights. Each activity required precise capture of fast moving guests in an environment constantly exposed to wind, moisture, and water spray from the Falls. WildPlay needed a fully automated system capable of delivering consistently clear photos and videos while ensuring that each piece of content was correctly assigned to the right guest. Kool Replay was selected for its reliable automation, high performance architecture, and proven ability to operate smoothly in harsh outdoor conditions.

Challenge

WildPlay needed a system capable of capturing clear photos and videos despite continuous water spray, wind, and rapidly changing outdoor conditions. The solution also had to maintain stable performance across multiple attraction types, each with its own environmental constraints and capture angles. Beyond image clarity, WildPlay required a reliable way to ensure that every piece of content was accurately linked to the correct guest and delivered quickly, even during heavy traffic periods when multiple ziplines were in operation simultaneously.

Challenges identified :

  • Keeping lenses clean despite constant water spray
  • Maintaining clear, consistent image quality across 11 zipline cameras and 2 Falls viewpoints
  • Capturing guests in fast moving scenarios
  • Ensuring accurate guest identification
  • Sustaining performance during peak operating periods

Solution

Solution details

To maintain clarity near the Falls, Kool Replay installed weatherproof enclosures equipped with automated wipers and a windshield washer mechanism that activates before each guest arrives. This system ensures the lens is always clean, despite continuous moisture. Each guest receives a wristband with a barcode that they scan before the activity, allowing all captured content to be automatically linked to the correct person. Eleven cameras were installed across the ziplines, with additional units dedicated to the American and Canadian Falls photo points. All content is processed and delivered digitally, with photos and videos sent directly to the guest’s email through a fully automated workflow.

Results

Results details

WildPlay reports a 15.1 percent increase in revenue and a 28.6 percent increase in sales from 2024 to 2025. The capture rate increased by 11 percent year over year, despite variations in ridership and temporary closures for renovations. Since the installation in May 2024, revenue and sales have shown a steady upward trend. Kool Replay now generates 10.4 percent of the attraction’s total revenue, supported by fast delivery, clearer media, and automated guest identification that replaced manual face matching. Although staffing levels remain the same for guest experience, sales are quicker and operations more efficient, providing long term, measurable business value.
